NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Jan. 30, 2019) – The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's and women's basketball teams travel to Miami Gardens, Florida, to take on the St. Thomas Bobcats in a Sun Conference doubleheader on Thursday, January 31.

JWU Women's Basketball

Last time out: The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) women's basketball team (6-15, 3-10 TSC) fell to the No. 5-ranked Southeastern Fire (20-2, 13-0 TSC), 109-74, on Saturday, January 26. Sophomore Tianna Ayulo led all Wildcats with 22 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the floor. It marked the 15th time this season the native of Hollywood, Florida, recorded 20-or-more points in a contest. She also registered five assists and four rebounds. Senior JoNae Gonzales-Smith poured in 17 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor (with all five made buckets from beyond the arc). The native of Richmond, California, led the team with seven rebounds while dishing out a team-best eight assists. The eight assists were a season-high for the second-year Wildcat. Freshman Carol Hadnot tied Gonzales-Smith for the team lead in rebounds, grabbing seven in the game. The JWU guard scored eight points in 23 minutes of action. Freshman Jordan McDuffie added 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting. The product of White Plains, Maryland, made three treys on four attempts for her ninth game in double-figures this season. Junior Lexie Jackson corralled six rebounds and scored eight points in her fourth start of the 2018-19 season.

JWU Men's Basketball

Last time out: The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's basketball team (2-18, 2-11 TSC) were unable to knock off the No. 13-ranked Southeastern Fire (18-5, 11-2 TSC), dropping a 97-61 decision on Saturday, January 26. The Wildcats were led by junior Dylan McHugh and freshman Dwayne Adams, who each posted 14 points in the game. McHugh shot 5-of-7 from the floor, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Adams went 6-of-11 from the floor and as 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. Freshman Tristan Stephens added nine points on 4-of-9 shooting. The native of West Palm Beach, Florida, grabbed four rebounds and tallied a team-best three steals.
