Men’s Basketball Falls to St. Thomas, 75-69

– The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's basketball team (2-19, 2-12 TSC) fell to the St. Thomas Bobcats (8-13, 7-6 TSC), 75-69, on Thursday evening from the Fernandez Family Center.

Freshman Dwayne Adams led all Wildcats with 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting floor. The native of Miami also grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds for the first double-double of his JWU career. Sophomore Jordan Martin contributed 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor while senior Jacknelson Joseph added 10 points on 3-of-11 shooting.

JWU finished the contest shooting 39.4 percent from the floor (26-of-66) and was 12-of-36 from 3-point range (33.3 percent). STU converted 50.0 percent of its shots in the contest (28-of-56) and hit on 38.1 percent from beyond the arc (8-of-21).

The Wildcats were outrebounded 40-36 but held a 13-11 edge on the offensive boards.

JWU will return home to host the Florida Memorial Lions on Saturday, February 2. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
