JWU Basketball Hosts Warner in Doubleheader on Senior Day

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Feb. 15, 2019) – The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's and women's basketball teams will host the Warner Royals in a Sun Conference doubleheader on Saturday, February 15. Both teams will honor their 2018-19 senior class prior to each game.

JWU Women's Basketball

Last time out: The Johnson & Wales women's basketball team (8-17, 5-12 TSC) suffered an 83-76 loss at Webber International (10-15, 5-12 TSC) on Thursday evening. JWU had four Wildcats score in double-figures, led by senior JoNae Gonzales-Smith, who posted 25 points on 9-of-19 shooting from the floor. The native of Richmond, California, drained five treys in the contest to go along with eight rebounds and a game-high seven assists. Freshman Ayshia Scott added a career-high 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the floor, including 4-of-5 shooting from 3-point range. Sophomore Alexis McClain scored 12 points on 5-of-14 shooting while grabbing seven boards. Sophomore Tianna Ayulo registered a team-high nine rebounds and recorded 10 points on 3-of-13 shooting from the floor and 4-of-8 shooting from the free-throw line.
