Four Wildcats Score in Double-Figures in 87-74 Loss at No. 14 Keiser

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (January 25, 2020)
– Despite four Wildcats reaching double-figures in scoring, the Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's basketball team (6-12, 2-8 TSC) fell to the No. 14-ranked Keiser Seahawks (17-3, 9-1 TSC), 87-74, on Saturday evening.

The Wildcats were led by freshman Dante Pace, who posted 20 points on 6-of-17 shooting from the floor, including four treys. Pace was also 4-of-4 from the free-throw line and notched three assists and three steals versus the Seahawks.

Freshman Alex Doane scored 17 points on 6-of-19 shooting from the field, including two 3-pointers. The native of Boca Raton, Florida, led JWU with six assists. Also scoring in double figures was freshman Tyler Poindexter, who added 12 points on 2-of-3 shooting from downtown and 6-of-6 shooting from the charity stripe.

Sophomore Kevin Rostamian registered his fifth double-double of the season, scoring 11 points and grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds.

The Wildcats finished the night, shooting 35.4 percent from the floor (23-of-65) and were 10-of-34 from beyond the arc (29.4 percent). The Seahawks went 33-of-69 form the field (47.8 percent) and shot 22.7 percent from 3-point land (5-of-22). KU held a 47-32 advantage on the boards, including a 15-8 edge on the offensive glass.

JWU will host the Warner Royals on Thursday, January 30. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
