@JWUMGolfNM Adds Four for 2018-19 Season

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (July 10, 2018) – Head Coach Danny Randolph announced on Tuesday the addition of Christian Meliambro, Thomas Hixon, Jonathan Suchoski, and Holden Berry to the Johnson & Wales men's golf team for the 2018-19 season.

"We are excited to welcome these student-athletes into our program," Coach Randolph said. "This is a great opportunity for them to come and compete for an outstanding university and program. We are excited about our future at JWU."

Meliambro, a native of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, graduated from All Saints Catholic High School. He helped All Saints finish fifth in the OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Association) Boys Golf Championship during the fall of 2018. In May of 2018, Meliambro placed fourth at the Jr. Spring Classic (U19) at Greyhawk Golf Club. In 2017, he had a third-place finish at the POJT Mississippi Junior Boys Classic and a second-place finish at the Ottawa Junior Championship.

Hixon, a transfer from Saint Leo University, is a native of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. A graduate of Portsmouth High School, Hixon was a three-time Portsmouth Herald Golfer of the Year (2012, 2013, 2014). He won the 2015 Pine Oaks Invitational, the 2014 New Hampshire Four-ball Championship, and was the 2014 NEPGA Elite Tour Championship Champion. Hixon claimed three tournament titles and was named the 2013 New Hampshire Player of the Year.

Suchoski is a native of St. Charles, Illinois. A graduate of Plainfield Central High School, Suchoski was named the Wildcats' Most Valuable Player in 2017 while also claiming the team's Most Improved honor. He finished seventh overall in the Southwest Prairie Conference Meet at Wedgewood this past season.

Berry is a graduate of Tates Creek High School in Lexington, Kentucky. While playing for the Commodores, he earned first-team all-city honors twice (2010 and 2012). As an amateur, Berry was a two-time qualifier for the Kentucky Open, shooting a 74 in 2018 (Winchester Country Club) and a 72 in 2016 (South Park Country Club). He was a KGA (Kentucky Golf Association) state amateur qualifier three times (2014, 2015, 2016) at the Danville Country Club.

The 2018-19 season will tee off in September under Coach Randolph, who is in his first season at JWU. The Wildcats finished tied for No. 12 in the nation in the final NAIA Top-25 poll last season are coming off their 18th-consecutive appearance in the NAIA National Championship Tournament.
