DADE CITY, Fla. (Feb. 26, 2019) –
Led by senior Cody Booska's 1-over, 217, the No. 12-ranked Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's golf team placed ninth in this year's Saint Leo Invitational (February 25-26) at the Lake Jovita Golf Course & Country Club.

The site of this year's Sun Conference Men's Golf Championship (April 27-30), the 12-team invitational was played on the South Course (par 72, 7,153 yards) and featured 72 total golfers.

Booska (75-69-73) finished in a tie for 13th place to improve his season stroke average to 72.17 (24 rounds). The native of Turners Falls, Massachusetts, capped off the week with a team-low, second-round score of 69 (his ninth round under par this season).

Following Booska was sophomore Jens Bendiksen, who posted a 7-over, 223 (75-77-71) to finish tied for 27th. Junior's Tim Bender and Gustav Tegel finished tied with a 233 (+17) good for 51st while junior Matt Maloney carded a 235 (+19) to place 59th. Senior Nick Fantasia, playing as an individual, placed tied for 62nd with a 237 (+21).

The Wildcats will return to action on Monday, March 4, in the Sand Shark Classic, hosted by USCB. The two-day tournament will be played at the Oldfield Country Club in Okatie, South Carolina.
