Wildcats Finish Sixth in Weather-Shortened Sand Shark Classic

) – With the final round of play suspended due to poor playing conditions as a result of weather, the Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's golf team (301-301, 602) placed sixth in this year's Sand Shark Classic (March 4-5).

Hosted by USCB and played at the Oldfield Country Club (7,124 yards, par 72), this year's classic featured 14 teams, including 10 from the Sun Conference. Originally scheduled for three rounds, results reverted back to the end of Round Two once play was suspended.

The Wildcats were led by senior Cody Booska, who posted a 2-over, 146, to tie for 10th on the individual leaderboard. It marked the sixth Top-10 finish for Booska this season. Following Booska on the leaderboard and playing as an individual was senior Nick Fantasia, who carded a six-over, finishing tied for 19th. Juniors Gustav Tegel and Matt Maloney were tied for 25th, shooting seven-over in the tournament. Sophomore Jens Bendiksen (+17) finished tied for 57th and junior Tim Bender (+19) placed tied for 63rd.

JWU will next travel to Primm Valley, Nevada, to take part in the Battle at Primm beginning March 18.
