Wildcats Place 12th at NAIA National Championship; Booska Finishes Tied for Eighth

MESA, Ariz. (May 24, 2019)
– Led by all-tournament selection and First-Team All-American Cody Booska, the Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's golf team finished 12th in this year's NAIA Men's Golf National Championships in Mesa, Arizona.

Held at the Las Sendas Golf Club (6,925 yards, par 71) this year's national championship tournament featured 30 of the top men's golf programs and six individual qualifiers for a total of 156 golfers. The Wildcats ended the four-day event with +73 to finish 12th. It marked the 19th-straight year in which JWU has placed 12th or better in the national tournament.

The Wildcats were led by Booska, who posted a 6-over, 290 (77-69-72-72) to finish tied for eighth. Jared Silva (84-70-74-77) and Jens Bendiksen (77-73-77-78) ended the week tied for 52nd with a 21-over, 305. Gustav Tegel placed tied for 63 (+26) followed by Tim Bender, who finished 87th (+43).

This marked the 19th-consecutive appearance for the Wildcats in the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship.
