Men’s Golf Places Sixth at San Antonio Shoot-Out

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (February 28, 2020)
– The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's golf team placed sixth (298-314-331 943) at the San Antonio Shoot-Out on Tuesday, February 25.

The 16-team, 85-player tournament, hosted by Schreiner University, was held at the TPC San Antonio on its Oaks (7034 yards, par 72) and Canyons Courses (6701 yards, par 72).

The Wildcats were led by Gustav Tegel, who placed tied for 13th, shooting a 16-over 232 (73-76-83). Following Tegel on the individual leaderboard was Julius Boros, who shot a 18-over 234 (76-77-81). Rounding out the team scorers on the individual leaderboard were Matt Maloney (tied for 19th – 19-over), Jens Bendiksen (tied for 34th – 26-over), and Jared Silva (tied for 65th – 36-over).

Playing as an individual, Jack Tharrington finished the tournament shooting an 18-over 234 (75-74-85) to place tied for 16th.

The Wildcats will next compete in the UCSB Sand Shark Invitational on Monday, March 2.
