@JWUWBBallNM Signs Ayshia Scott

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (July 12, 2018) – Head Coach Kymberly Hope announced on Thursday the signing of Ayshia Scott to the Johnson & Wales women's basketball program for the 2018-19 season.

   "Ayshia is a great kid with unlimited potential," Coach Hope said. "She will be a great addition to our JWU family. I am particularly excited about her versatility, her ability to shoot the three, and her overall basketball experience. I believe her championship experience and the love of the game will add to our program's success."

  Scott, a native of Florence, South Carolina, is a graduate of Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate School in Darlington, South Carolina. During her senior season, the 5-foot-5 guard broke the school record for career points and eclipsed the 1000-point plateau with a 21-point performance versus West Florence (November 29, 2017). Named the team's Most Valuable Player three times (2015, 2016, 2017), Scott helped lead the Titans to their first SCISA 2A State Championship in school history as a senior.

She was named to the SCISA 2A All-Region Team during her sophomore, junior and senior years and was an All-State honoree as a senior. The starting point guard for TBCS since the eighth grade, Scott was named the MVP of the USBA Carolina Invitational while leading the Titans to Battery Division Championship. She averaged 20.3 points-per-game over the three-day event.

Scott joins previously announced Jordan McDuffie to comprise the 2018-19 women's basketball signing class.
