Wildcats Suffer 78-67 Loss at St. Thomas

– The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) women's basketball team (6-16, 3-11 TSC) suffered a 78-67 loss to the St. Thomas Bobcats (19-5, 11-2 TSC) on Thursday evening from the Fernandez Family Center.

Sophomore Tianna Ayulo led all Wildcats with a game-high 26 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the floor. The native of Hollywood, Florida, also grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists. Sophomore Alexis McClain contributed 14 points on 7-of-15 shooting while recording a team-high eight rebounds.

JWU ended the night shooting 43.5 percent from the floor (27-of-62) and was 4-of-12 from 3-point range (33.3 percent). STU made 50.0 percent of its shots in the contest (31-of-62) and hit on 27.8 percent from beyond the arc (5-of-18).

The Wildcats held a 38-36 edge in rebounding while holding a 16-13 advantage on the offensive glass.

JWU will return home to host the Florida Memorial Lions on Saturday, February 2. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
