Megan Matheney Joins @JWUWBBallNM 2019-20 Signing Class

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (August 2, 2019) – Head Coach Kymberly Hope announced on Friday the signing of Megan Matheney to the Johnson & Wales women's basketball program for the 2019-20 season.

Matheney joins previously announced Chrystal Pressley to comprise the 2019-20 women's basketball signing class.

"Megan is a very skilled and unselfish basketball player with tremendous scoring ability, who will have a great impact on our program," Coach Hope said. "She was the leading scorer at her high school at Umatilla High School where she finished her career with over 1,400 points. I know Megan will be is a huge asset. She is an outstanding teammate, who comes from a great family and we are excited to welcome her to the JWU Family."

Matheney was a four-year letterwinner at Umatilla High School in Umatilla, Florida, where she scored 1,421 points during her career. During her senior season, Matheney averaged 17.8 points-per-game and 6.1 rebounds-per-contest while guiding the Bulldogs to the District 5 Championship Game and a berth in the 5A FHSAA Girls Basketball State Championship Tournament.  

Matheney finished her Bulldog career, averaging 14.6 points-per-game and 6.2 rebounds-per-game.
