JWU Wins Fifth-Straight; Defeats Keiser, 75-72

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (November 23, 2019)
– The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) women's basketball team (5-0, 2-0 TSC) won its fifth-straight contest with a 75-72 victory over the Keiser Seahawks (3-3, 1-1 TSC) on Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats were led offensively by junior Tianna Ayulo who posted 21 points on 7-of-17 shooting from the floor and 7-of-11 shooting from the free-throw line. The native of Hollywood, Florida, also dished out three assists and recorded three steals.

Senior Lexie Jackson added 12 points on 5-of-12 shooting while sophomore Jordan McDuffie registered 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting. Junior Chrystal Pressley grabbed a game-high 15 boards to go along with eight points.

JWU finished the afternoon shooting 41.8 percent from the floor (28-of-67) and was 5-of-17 from 3-point range (29.4 percent). KU converted 36.5 percent of its shots (23-of-63) and drained 6-of-16 attempts from 3-point land.

The Wildcats will next host the Coastal Georgia Mariners on Thursday, December 5. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
