Women’s Basketball Drops 84-59 Decision at Coastal Georgia

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (February 8, 2020)
– The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) women's basketball team (15-6, 9-4 TSC) dropped an 84-59 decision to the Coastal Georgia Mariners (17-6, 11-3 TSC) on Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats were led offensively by junior Tianna Ayulo and sophomore Carol Hadnot who each posted 15 points in the game. Ayulo shot 6-fo-18 from the floor and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season. Hadnot went 5-of-13 from the field including a game-high four 3-pointers.

JWU ended the game shooting 26.5 percent from the floor (22-of-83) and was 10-fo-40 from 3-point range (25.0 percent). The Mariners shot 26-of-61 from the field (42.6 percent) and knocked down 21.4 percent from downtown (3-of-14). CCG out-rebounded JWU, 48-39, despite a 25-18 edge for the Wildcats on the offensive glass.

JWU will return home to take on the Ave Maria Gyrenes on Thursday, February 13. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
