The Wildcats used four first-half goals to claim a 4-3 win at Florida College on Thursday. The win marked the second-straight for JWU, giving the Wildcats a 2-0-0 start to the season. Sophomore Savannah Jackson recorded the seventh multiple-goal game of her career with two scores versus the Falcons. The Davenport, Florida, native has totaled four goals on the year. She also added an assist versus Florida College to lead the team in points with nine. Juniors Danielle Gomez and Sawyer Hall each scored their first goals in a Wildcat uniform on Thursday.
The win marked the third-straight for the Wildcats over the Falcons as JWU has outscored Florida College 12-3 over the last three meetings.
The Wildcats come into Saturday's contest averaging 26.5 shots-on-goal-per-game (No. 11 in the nation) and have totaled seven goals on the season (No. 23 in the nation). Jackson has scored both game-winning goals this season, giving her a career total of eight.
Offensive Pressure: In the first two games of the season, JWU has outshot their opponents 53-17 (18-8 SOG). Last time out, the Wildcats used 14 total shots in the first half (seven for Florida College) to score four goals en route to a 4-3 win.
2-0-0 Start: With the 4-3 win on Thursday, JWU has started the season 2-0-0 for the second-straight season. Last year, the Wildcats began the year 3-0-0 before dropping a 2-1 (2OT) decision at Florida National.
Series History: Saturday will mark the fourth meeting all-time between JWU and Eckerd College with the Tritons holding a 3-0-0 edge in the series history. The last meeting the two schools resulted in a 9-0 win for Eckerd on September 13, 2014, in St. Petersburg, Florida.
A Look at Eckerd: The Tritons enter Saturday's game with a 1-0-0 record after a 9-0 win over fellow Sun Conference foe Webber International on Thursday evening. Eckerd outshot Webber, 31-2, as eight different Tritons scored in the contest.
