The Wildcats are coming off a 7-0 win over Glenville State last Friday. Scoring three goals in the first 11 minutes of action, the Wildcats jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and never looked back. Sophomore Savannah Jackson led the way with three goals in 21 minutes of action for her second-career hat trick. JWU produced its highest output offensively since an 8-0 win over Johnson (FL) (then-Florida Christian) on October 31, 2012.
JWU enters play this week, averaging 3.50 goals-per-game (No. 2 in the Sun Conference and No. 27 in the nation) on 19.0 shots-per-contest (No. 2 in the conference and No. 39 in the nation). The Wildcats have outshot the opposition, 76-36, while allowing just six goals in four contests (1.50 GAA). Jackson leads JWU with 15 points on seven goals and one assist. She ranks No. 2 in the conference and No. 10 in the nation in total goals (7) and is tied for the conference lead in game-winning goals with three (No. 3 in the nation). Her 15 total points rank No. 2 in the conference and No. 14 in the nation. She notched her 50th-career point (24g, 2a) during last Friday's victory. Junior Sawyer Hall has notched her second goal of the season during last week's win to give the native of Pembroke Pines four points on the year. Junior Danielle Gomez has also tallied four points on the year, scoring one goal and registering two assists this season. Freshman goalkeeper Kellie Fitzpatrick has made three starts this season, picking up three wins with a 2.00 GAA. Junior Ashley Buchanan has appeared in net for the Wildcats in three matches, posting a 0.67 GAA.
Series History: Friday will mark the second meeting all-time between JWU and Georgia Gwinnett with the series tied, 0-0-1. The last and only meeting between the two squads resulted in a 1-1 (2OT) draw on September 16, 2016, in West Palm Beach, Florida.
