Savannah Jackson and Kellie Fitzpatrick Sweep TSC Player of the Week Honors

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Oct. 22, 2018) – Sophomore Savannah Jackson and freshman Kellie Fitzpatrick swept the Sun Conference Player of the Week honors for the week ending October 21, the league announced on Monday.

Jackson was named the TSC Offensive Player of the Week while Fitzpatrick garnered the TSC Defensive Player of the Week award for their performances last week as JWU clinched a spot in this year's Sun Conference Women's Soccer Championship – just the third appearance in program history.

Jackson produced 10 points this past week, including her fourth hat trick of 2018 to help lead the Wildcats to 2-0 mark in Sun Conference action. The native of Davenport, Florida, opened the week with a two-goal performance versus Warner. The multiple-goal game was the eighth of the season for Jackson. She also made school history, becoming the first player at JWU to notch 20-or-more goals in a single season. Her two-goal came on just six shots (four on net). Three days later, Jackson registered her fourth hat trick of the season as the Wildcats downed Thomas, 4-1. She netted three first-half goals, including the game-winner – her seventh this year. The win over the Night Hawks was the first in program history for the Wildcats, who entered the contest with a 0-5-1 mark all-time versus Thomas. On the year, Jackson has netted 24 goals with four assists for 52 total points. She is second in the conference in both goals-per-game (1.71 – No. 4 in the nation) and points-per-contest (3.71 – No. 4 in the nation).

This marks the first weekly conference award of Jackson's JWU career.

Fitzpatrick picked up two victories this past week as JWU recorded its fifth and sixth conference wins of the year. The native of Spokane, Washington, finished the week with a 2-0-0 record with a 0.50 goals-against average, including her third shutout of the season. The first-year Wildcat recorded 14 saves with a save percentage of .933. Fitzpatrick began the week, shutting out Warner, 3-0, for her eighth win of the season. She stopped six shots as JWU won its fifth TSC match of 2018. Three days later, Fitzpatrick made eight saves as the Wildcats downed Thomas, 4-1, for the program's first win over the Night Hawks. It also gave JWU its most TSC conference wins in a single season in program history (6). On the year, Fitzpatrick has 9-4-0 record with a 2.45 GAA. She has made 81 saves this season with a save percentage of 73 percent.

The weekly award is the second of the season for Fitzpatrick.
