Wildcats Drops Regular-Season Finale, 1-0

BLUFFTON, S.C. (Oct. 27, 2018)
– The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) women's soccer team (9-6-0, 6-4-0 TSC) dropped its regular-season finale with a 1-0 loss at USCB (7-7-1, 4-4-1 TSC) on Saturday afternoon from Fin Land Field.

Despite dominating the contest in all areas, the Wildcats fell victim to an early goal by the Sand Sharks. A second-minute strike by USCB's Baylie White was the game's only score, resulting in the one-goal contest.

JWU outshot USCB, 19-9, including a 12-5 edge in shots on goal. Five Wildcats had scoring chances in the contest, including sophomore Savannah Jackson and senior Carissa Sanchez, who combined to force USCB goalkeeper Logan Leask to make eight save. In all the Sand Shark keeper registered 12 saves in the game.  

The Wildcats will now turn their attention to the 2018 Sun Conference Women's Soccer Championships. JWU will host an opening-round match on Saturday, November 3. Game time versus an opponent to-be-determined is set for 1:00 p.m.
