NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Nov. 2, 2018) – The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) women's soccer team (9-6-0) will make history on Saturday, hosting the program's first Sun Conference Championship match on Saturday, November 3. The Wildcats will take on the Warner Lady Royals (11-6-1) in a quarterfinal matchup slated to start at 1:00 p.m. from the Miami Shores Recreation Complex (9825 NE 7th Ave., Miami Shores, FL 33138).

The Wildcats had their most-successful regular season in program history in 2018, going 9-6-0 overall with a 6-4-0 mark in Sun Conference play. Both win totals are school records. JWU comes into this weekend's quarterfinal action – its third appearance in the TSC Women's Soccer Championships – averaging 2.73 goals-per-game (No. 3 in the conference and No. 48 in the nation) on 247 total shots.

The Wildcats are led offensively by sophomore Savannah Jackson, finished the 2018 regular season with 24 goals and four assists for 52 points. The native of Davenport, Florida, set the single-season school record for goal and points this past year while ranking No. 2 in the conference in goals-per-game (1.60 – No. 5 in the nation) and points-per-contest (3.47 – No. 4 in the nation). Senior Carissa Sanchez is second on the squad in total points (16), producing six goals and four assists in 2018. The native of Miami has scored a goal in four of the last five JWU contests. Junior Sawyer Hall leads the team with five assists this year. The product of Pembroke Pines, Florida, has also notched four goals for 13 total points. Freshman goalkeeper Kellie Fitzpatrick enters Saturday's contest with a 9-5-0 record and a 2.34 goals-against-average. The native of Spokane, Washington has registered 85 saves in 2018 with a save percentage of 73.3 percent.

Series History: Saturday's contest will mark the ninth meeting all-time between JWU and Warner with the Wildcats holding a 5-4-0 edge in the series history. The last meeting between the two schools resulted in a 3-0 win for the Wildcats on October 17, 2018, in Miami Shores, Florida.

A Look at Warner: The Lady Royals come into Saturday's contest averaging 1.83 goals-per-game on 274 total shots. Warner has outscored the opposition, 33-21, in 2018.
