NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Nov. 5, 2018) – The Johnson & Wales men's (9-6-0) and women's (10-6-0) soccer teams will travel to Lakeland, Florida, to take on Southeastern in a Sun Conference Tournament Semifinal doubleheader on Tuesday, November 6. The women (No. 4 seed) will face the Fire at 5:00 p.m. followed by the men (No. 6 seed) at 7:30 p.m. from the SEU Soccer Complex.

JWU Women's Soccer
JWU women's soccer is coming off the program's first TSC Tournament win with a 3-0 victory over Warner on Saturday. Led by sophomore Savannah Jackson's two goals and one assist, the Wildcats shut out the Lady Royals for the second time this season, resulting in the team's second TSC semifinal appearance in school history.
The Wildcats enter Tuesday's match, averaging 2.75 goals-per-game (No. 3 in the conference and No. 48 in the nation) on 266 total shots. JWU has outscored the opposition, 44-35, this year.
Jackson leads the Wildcats with 26 goals and five assists for 57 points. The second-year Wildcat currently ranks No. 2 in the conference in points-per-game (3.56 – No. 4 in the nation) and No. 3 in the conference in goals-per-contest (3.56 – No. 4 in the nation). Senior Carissa Sanchez is second on the squad with seven goals and six assists for 20 points. The native of Miami has scored a goal in six of the last eight games. Junior Sawyer Hall is third on the team in scoring with 13 points (4g, 5a). Freshman goalkeeper Kellie Fitzpatrick has notched a single-season school record 10 wins in 2018 with a 2.17 goals-against-average and 94 total saves.
The Series History: Tuesday will mark the 11th meeting all-time between JWU and Southeastern with the Fire holding a 7-2-1 edge in the series history. The last meeting between the two schools resulted in an 8-1 win for SEU over JWU on September 22, 2018, in Miami Shores, Florida.

JWU Men's Soccer
JWU men's soccer made history on Saturday, winning the program's first Sun Conference Tournament match and advancing to the TSC semifinals following a 3-2 win at St. Thomas. The Wildcats used two goals by freshman Fernando Arzeno to earn the team's first win over STU since 2013.
The Wildcats enter Tuesday's contest averaging 3.07 goals-per-game (No. 2 in the conference and No. 22 in the nation) on 225 total shots. JWU has outscored the opposition, 43-29, this season.
The Wildcats are led by Arzeno, who enters this week with 12 goals and one assist for 25 points. His 12 goals and 25 points in 2018 are single-season records for the Wildcats as Arzeno is the first JWU player to reach double-digits in goals since the 2013 season (Pedro Codo -11; Victor Codo – 11). Arzeno currently ranks tied for No. 4 in the conference in points-per-game (1.92 – No. 41 in the nation) and No. 3 in the conference in goals-per-contest (0.92 – No. 23 in the nation). Seniors Patricio Rolon and Valentin Salinas are tied for second on the team in scoring with 18 points apiece. The duo from Buenos Aires, Argentina, have both recorded six goals and six assists on the year. The points, goals, and assists totals are all single-season high for both midfielders.
