The Wildcats are off to a 3-0-0 start after defeating the Brenau (Ga.), 2-1, on Thursday, August 29, in Gainesville, Georgia.

Led by junior Savannah Jackson, who register both goals in the game to increase her nation-leading, goal-scoring total to 11, the Wildcats improved to 3-0-0 to start the season, tying the school record for consecutive wins to start a season (2017).

Jackson got things going for the Wildcats with a score in the 17th minute. Assisted by freshman Brazil Clark, the native of Winter Haven, Florida, gave JWU a 1-0 lead with her 10th goal of the season. Jackson was not done, scoring the team's second goal in the 49th minute. It marked the 19th time during her JWU career in which the third-year Wildcat scored multiple goals in the game. The score was also the eventual game-winner, marking the 17th game-winning goal of her career.

Brenau responded with a goal of its own in the 55th minute by Stacy Mendoza, cutting the JWU lead to 2-1. However, the Golden Tigers would get no closer as the Wildcats claimed the victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Denise Mendoza (3-0-0) claimed her third win of the season, allowing just one goal while making six saves.
