The Wildcats are looking to improve to 5-1 on the year, hosting the Gyrenes in non-conference action this Saturday, after falling at Lynn, 6-4, on Tuesday.

Junior Savannah Jackson scored all four goals for the Wildcats, increasing her Sun Conference- and nation-leading goal-scoring total to 19 through five games.

After falling behind, following a first-minute goal by Lynn, Jackson got JWU on the board with her 16th goal of the season in the second minute. Sophomore Fiona Butler with her first assist of the season set up the score.

The Fighting Knights responded with five-straight goals to take a 6-1 lead. It wasn't until the 72nd minute that the Wildcat got back on the board with Jackson's second goal of the night. Off a corner by Tyler Einsmann, Jackson headed a strike past the Lynn goalkeeper for the 21st multiple-goal game of her career.

The reigning Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week wasn't done, finding the back of the net in the 77th minute for the ninth hat trick of her career. After receiving the throw-in from Einsmann, Jackson split the Lynn defense and struck a shot from the left side of the net that pulled JWU within three, 6-3. Einsmann notched her second assist of the night on the goal.

In the 80th minute, Jackson made it goal number four, marking the fourth game this season she recorded four-or-more goals. Einsmann notched her third assist on the score to increase her season total to a team-high six.

Freshman Denise Mendoza (4-1-0) was saddled with the loss, allowing six goals while recording seven saves versus Lynn.

The Fighting Knights held a 19-13 edge in shots and a 13-7 advantage in shots on goal.
