JWU’s Savannah Jackson Named TSC Offensive Player of the Week

TAMPA, Fla. (September 23, 2019) – Junior Savannah Jackson has been named the Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 22 the league announced on Monday.

Jackson produced seven goals this past week to increase her conference- and nation-leading, goal-scoring total to 22. The native of Winter Haven, Florida, began the week, scoring four goals in a 6-4 loss at Lynn University (NCAA DII). The contest was the fourth game of the year in which Jackson notched four-or-more goals in a contest. The Wildcat forward followed that up, scoring three goals versus Ave Maria in a 4-0 home-opening win. Versus the Gyrenes, Jackson notched the game-winning goal – her fifth of the season and 19th of her JWU career. She also registered her sixth hat trick of the season and 10th of her career. On the year, Jackson has scored 22 goals (No. 1 in the nation) and record 44 points (No. 1 in the nation) on 48 total shots (37 shots on goal). Averaging 8.00 shots-per-game (No. 3 in the nation) and 6.17 shots on goal-per-game (No. 1 in the nation), Jackson leads the country in total game-winning goals, and is second in the nation in both goals-per-game (3.67) and points-per-game (7.33).

This marks the third weekly conference award on the year for Jackson and the fourth of her JWU career.
