MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (September 28, 2019)
– Midfielder Sawyer Hall notched a career-high two goals to help lead the Johnson & Wales (Fla.) women's soccer team (6-1-0, 1-0-0 TSC) to a 3-0 win over the USCB Sand Sharks (4-4-0, 0-1-0 TSC) on Saturday afternoon.

Hall's first career multiple-goal game as a Wildcat gave JWU its first conference win of the season and improved her squad to 6-1-0 for the first time in program history. It also improved JWU to 4-4-1 all-time versus the Sand Sharks.

Junior Andrea Gomez got the Wildcats on the board with a converted penalty kick in the 35th minute. Less than 30 seconds later, Hall notched the first of her two goals on the afternoon, burying a pass from junior Savannah Jackson to give JWU a 2-0 lead. Jackson was credited with her first assist of the season on the goal.

Hall added an insurance goal in the 53rd minute converting a PK in which Jackson drew. The goal was the fourth of the season for the native of Pembroke Pines, Florida.

Freshman goalkeeper Denise Mendoza (6-1-0) notched her second-straight shutout and third of the season, making six saves in 90 minutes of action.

Despite USCB holding a 19-16 edge in total shots, JWU held the advantage in shots on goal, 8-6.

The Wildcats will return to the field on Wednesday, October 2, when they host the St. Thomas Bobcats. Game time from the Miami Shores Recreation Complex is set for noon.
