Women’s Soccer Returns to Action at Ave Maria on Wednesday

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (October 8, 2019) – The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) women's soccer team (7-2-0, 2-1-0 TSC) travel to Ave Maria, Florida to take on the Gyrenes (1-8-0, 0-2-0 TSC) on Wednesday, October 9. Game time from Gyrene Field is set for 7:00 p.m.

JWU Women's Soccer

The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) women's soccer team (7-2-0, 2-1-0 TSC) suffered its first Sun Conference loss of the season, falling to the No. 4-ranked Southeastern Fire (9-2-0, 3-0-0 TSC), 6-1, on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Savannah Jackson scored the Wildcat's lone goal with a 75th-minute strike. The score was her 24th goal of the season, giving the native of Winter Haven, Florida, 69th for her career.

The Fire jumped out to a 3-0 lead during the first 45 minutes of action, adding three more in the second half before Jackson got JWU on the board. SEU out-shot JWU, 20-6 (10-5 on goal).

The loss snapped a three-match winning streak for the Wildcats.
