Jackson Named Sun Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

TAMPA, Fla. (October 14, 2019) -- Junior Savannah Jackson has been named the Sun Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 13 the league announced on Monday.

Jackson scored six goals and recorded one assist as JWU earned a pair of Sun Conference victories this past week. The native of Winter Haven, Florida, began the week with her seventh hat trick of the season, scoring three goals in a 5-1 win at Ave Maria on Wednesday. During the match, she scored her 70th-career goal which was ultimately the game-winner (her seventh of the season) in the 29th minute. Later in the week, Jackson broke the school record for most goals in a single season, recording Nos. 28, 29, and 30 versus Webber International (3-0 W). Jackson's hat trick – her eighth of the season and 12th of her career – guided JWU to its fourth-straight home victory. She broke the record she set last season with her second goal of the game (29th minute). On the year, Jackson leads the nation in total goals (30), goals per game (2.73), total game-winning goals (8), game-winning goals per game (0.73), and total points (62).

This marks the fourth weekly conference award on the year for Jackson and the fifth of her JWU career.
