Savannah Jackson Named NAIA Offensive Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (October 22, 2019) – Junior Savannah Jackson was named the NAIA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 20, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Tuesday.

Jackson becomes the first JWU women's soccer player to garner this national award.

Jackson, this week's Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week, recorded eight goals and two assists for 18 points as JWU went 1-0-1 in conference play this past week. The native of Winter Haven, Florida, helped the Wildcats reach the 10-win plateau for the second-straight season and second time in program history. Jackson began the week posting a school-record six goals versus Florida Memorial on Wednesday. She also added two assist versus the Lions. During the match, Jackson recorded her ninth hat trick of the season as well as the 80th goal of her career. On Saturday, Jackson added two more goals in a 3-3 (2OT) tie with SCAD Savannah, to increase her season total to 38. On the year, Jackson leads the nation in goals (38), points (80), goals-per-game (2.92), points-per-game (6.15), game-winning goals (9), and game-winning goals-per-contest (0.69).
