Three Wildcats Earns Women’s Soccer All-Conference Honors

TAMPA, Fla. (November 6, 2019) -- The Sun Conference announced its 2019 women's soccer all-conference teams on Wednesday with three Wildcats earning all-league honors. Junior Savannah Jackson was named to the Sun Conference First Team while senior Sawyer Hall and junior Ashlyn Hannus garnered second-team recognition.

Jackson, a three-time first-team selection, finished the 2019 regular season with a school-record 41 goals and 86 points. The native of Winter Haven, Florida, tallied eight hat tricks in 2019 (12 for her career), including a school-record six-goal outing versus Florida Memorial (10/16). She was named the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week for that week's performance, becoming the school's first recipient of the national award. She was named the Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week five times this year while leading JWU to its highest win total in school history (11).

Hall, a two-time second-team selection, finished second on the team in goals (4) and total points (15). The native of Pembroke Pines, Florida, also registered a career-high seven assists in 2019. She finished second on the team in assists. Hall scored a career-high two goals in a 3-0 win over USCB (9/28) and tied her career-mark in assists with three versus Florida Memorial (10/16). In conference play, Hall posted two goals and four assists for eight points.

Hannus started in all 16 games for the Wildcats, recording three goals and two assists for eight points. The third-year defender helped JWU post six shutouts and a team goals-against average of 1.53 while earning the No. 3 seed in the upcoming TSC Women's Soccer Championships. She notched her first collegiate point in the team's season opener versus Florida National (8/20) and scored her first goal as a Wildcat in the team's 5-1 win at Ave Maria (10/9). She capped off the season was a two-goal performance versus Florida Memorial (10/16) – the first multiple-goal game of her career.   

The 2019 Sun Conference Women's Soccer Tournament begins on Saturday with two quarterfinal matches. The semifinals will take place at Keiser and Southeastern on November 12, with the championship match on November 15 at the highest remaining seed.
