Carissa Sanchez enters her first season at Johnson & Wales (Fla.), serving as assistant coach for the women’s soccer program.
A member of the 2018 women’s soccer team, Sanchez helped JWU to its most successful season in program history, scoring seven goals and registering seven assists for 21 points en route to Second-Team All-Sun Conference honors. Prior to joining JWU, spent three seasons at Barry University, competing for the Buccaneers in both the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Earning Second-Team All-Sunshine State Conference as a junior, Sanchez finished her Barry career with eight goals, 10 assists for 26 points. She began her collegiate career with Rider where she was named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team, scoring four goals and adding one assist.
As a student-athlete, Sanchez volunteered her time at camps during the summers in preparation for a career in coaching.
Sanchez received her Bachelors of Science in sports management with a minor in business from Barry (2018) and earned her Master’s in business administration from JWU in 2019.
