NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Oct. 27, 2018) – The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) volleyball team (9-19, 1-13 TSC) fell to the Ave Maria Gyrenes (6-14, 3-11 TSC), 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-13) on Saturday in the regular-season home finale.
The Wildcats were led by junior Sharell Nairn, who recorded nine kills with a .333 hitting percentage. Sophomore Savannah Swenson notched a team-best 12 digs while freshman Vanessa Orozco notched a match-high 23 assists.
For the match, the Gyrenes hit .237 to a clip of .000 for the Wildcats. Both teams registered 45 digs in the match while Ave Maria held a 7-4 advantage in service aces.
JWU will travel to Miami Gardens to take on Florida Memorial on Wednesday, October 31. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
