JWU Volleyball Hosts Big Chef, Little Chef Event

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Nov. 14, 2018) – On Friday, November 9, members of the Johnson & Wales volleyball team hosted students from local elementary schools, including W. J. Bryan Elementary School as part of JWU's Big Chef, Little Chef program.

The Big Chef, Little Chef program pairs students from nearby schools with JWU mentors in order to learn about nutrition, food preparation, and etiquette. The other side of eating properly is to also focus on the fitness side, which links athletics.

"Big Chef, Little Chef was a great experience for us and I was glad to have been a part of it," freshman Adejah Charlemagne said. "We had a lot of fun with the kids, teaching them how to play volleyball. We also taught them the importance of fitness and wellness. We got a lot out of it as well as there was a lot of laughter and smiles. It was a great experience and we loved it."

As part of JWU's commitment to the NAIA's Champions of Character program, moments such as Friday's will continue to be a high priority to all members of the Johnson & Wales Athletic Department.
