Sharell Nairn Records 1,000th-Career Kill in 3-0 Loss to St. Thomas

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (October 26, 2019)
– Senior Sharell Nairn became the first player in JWU history to record 1,000 kills, posting nine during the Wildcats (9-15, 2-10 TSC), 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-16) loss to St. Thomas (10-13, 6-7 TSC) on Saturday afternoon.

Nairn, recorded a team-high nine kills versus the Bobcats to push her career total to 1,000. The native of Miami, Florida, also collected eight digs on the day.

Sophomore Vanessa Orozco registered 11 assists and 11 digs for her ninth double-double of the season.

The Wildcats ended the match with 21 kills and 20 errors on 91 total attempts (.011) while STU recorded 38 kills and 12 errors on 88 total attempts (.295). The Bobcats held a 46-32 edge in total digs and had 4.5 total team blocks to 2.0 for JWU.

The Wildcats will travel to West Palm Beach, Florida, to take on the Keiser Seahawks on Wednesday, October 30. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
