NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (November 2, 2019) – The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) volleyball team (9-17, 2-12 TSC) fell to the Southeastern Fire (19-8, 10-4 TSC), 3-0 (25-16, 25-10, 25-17), on Saturday afternoon from the Wildcat Center.
JWU was led offensively by senior Sharell Nairn, who posted 10 kills versus the Fire. The native of Miami, Florida, also collected 11 digs for her 13th double-double of the season.
Sophomore Vanessa Orozco led JWU with 19 assists, while freshman Desiree Birriel notched a team-high 12 digs.
The Wildcats recorded 21 kills and 22 errors on 108 total attempts (-.009). The Fire registered 40 kills and 12 errors on 105 total attacks (.267). SEU held a 60-47 edge in digs and had 6.0 total team blocks to just 1.0 for JWU.
The Wildcats will travel to Ave Maria, Florida, to take on the Gyrenes on Wednesday, November 6. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
