SCAD Savannah was tabbed as the favorite to claim its third consecutive Sun Conference women's cross country crown in preseason voting by the league's nine head coaches.
The Bees earned seven of a possible eight first-place votes and 62 total points to edge USC Beaufort (51 points) and Southeastern (50) for the top spot in the preseason poll.
Ave Maria (41) picked up the final first-place vote and finished fourth in the poll, followed by Keiser (39) and Webber International (30). Warner (23), St. Thomas (18) and Johnson & Wales (10) rounded out the poll.
The Bees return their top four finishers from last year's Sun Conference Championship, including individual champion and Runner of the Year Lotti Zeiler. Alessa Reuffurth and Caroline Cook also return after earning first-team All-Sun Conference honors a year ago, as does second-team All-Conference runner Chrissy Glover.
USCB returns the only other first-team All-Conference performer from last season in conference runner-up Betsy Douglas, who was the top Sun Conference finisher at the 2014 NAIA National Championships with a 63rd-place showing.
Southeastern returns three second-team All-Conference runners in Megan Fitzgerald, Sarah Deibner and Sydni Ogilvie.
The 2015 Sun Conference Championship is scheduled for Nov. 7 in Lakeland, Fla., with the top team and individuals qualifying for the NAIA National Championship on Nov. 21 in Charlotte, N.C.
