JWU Women’s Cross Country Picked 10th in 2019 Preseason TSC Coaches' Poll

TAMPA, Fla. (Aug. 22, 2019) -- The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) women's cross country team has been selected 10th in the 2019 Sun Conference Preseason Women's Cross Country Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office on Thursday.

Southeastern received four first-place votes (coaches are not allowed to vote for their own teams) and a total of 73 points to place five points ahead of 2018 runnerup St. Thomas and six points in front of defending TSC champion SCAD Savannah. St. Thomas received two first-place votes, SCAD Savannah had three and Ave Maria garnered one.

Following the top three in the coaches' poll are Ave Maria with 57 points, USC Beaufort (44), Webber International (35), first-year program Thomas (33), Keiser (31), Warner (26) and Johnson & Wales (16).

The 2019 TSC Women's Cross Country Championship will be run at Hardeeville, S.C., and hosted by USC Beaufort on Nov. 9.
