Cross Country Opens Season at 17th Annual ASICS Embry-Riddle Classic

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (September 21, 2019) – The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) cross country team opens the 2019 season with the 17th Annual ASICS Embry-Riddle Classic on Saturday, September 21.

Nineteen collegiate teams and 15 high school squads are slated to compete on Saturday.

Over 700 runners are set to partake in the classic this Saturday on Embry-Riddle's campus. The event, which is one of the premier cross country meets in the state of Florida, features a course with numerous types of terrain, including athletic fields, grass hills and mulch trails, making it one of the most challenging courses in the state of Florida. 

The day's events begin at 7:20 a.m. with the collegiate men's race, followed by the women's collegiate race at 7:50 a.m. The high school girls (8:15 a.m.), high school boys (8:40 a.m.), junior varsity girls (9:05 a.m.) and junior varsity boys (9:30 a.m.) races round out the morning.
