TAMPA, Fla. (March 2, 2020) – The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) track & field team competed at the University of Tampa Invitational this past weekend with the men's squad placing ninth out of 16 teams.
The event featured 21 men's and women's programs and took place at UT's Pepin Stadium on Friday, February 28.
JWU men's team was led by freshman Javon St. Firmin, finished fifth in the 400m dash with a time of 52.74. His PR time earned the Wildcats eight points.
Freshman Jasen Santerre earned JWU one point with an eighth-place finish in the 400m hurdles. The native of Boynton Beach, Florida, set a PR with a time of 1:08.18.
In the men's 100m dash, junior Darius Campbell set a PR with a time of 12.09 to place 12th followed by freshman Nickalus Knight, whose PR time of 12.20 place him 14th.
On the women's side, Leonardia Rolle finished 22nd in the 200m dash with a time of 29.60.
Freshman Chelsea Lewis posted an 18th-place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:43.85.
The Wildcats will next compete in Bobcat/Shark Relays in Miramar, Florida, on Tuesday, March 10.
